  • Will these waypoints upload to my graph?
Yes, any unit with GPS navigational functions and a 1,000+ waypoint capacity.
  • Why does the data consist of waypoints rather than routes/trails?
Most people find it easier to aim your track extension / course projection line at each waypoint's icon without a line overlap. The waypoints should be passed over directly as they are areas where choke points exist between timbered areas. By using your heading or course extension while navigating you can aim towards the next waypoint/icon to help guide you. It is much better to make an error inbetween two waypoints as opposed to inaccurately passing over the waypoint directly.
  • Will these waypoints overlay with my Navionics chip?
Yes, Lake Fork Guide Lanes consists of 1,081 waypoints that will load on any unit that is also using a Navionics Mapping Chip. Once Guide Lanes waypoints are uploaded, the SD card can be removed from the unit.
  • What is the safest way to navigate these waypoints?
Turn on your heading/course extension, enable your GPS unit to portray your vessel's direction. Line up your track extension / course projection line and aim at the next closest waypoint. Travel waypoint to waypoint in a series. Waypoints labeled 'Chaney, Ray, Dale, Wolf, etc." are cove/creek names. Waypoints labeled 'SLOW' need to be navigated at idle speed or slower. Waypoints labeled 'JUNCTION' are where two or three lanes connect. Waypoints labeled 'SRA' are the most optimal buoy positions and can be run at faster than idle speed. *PLEASE ADVISE: All non-SRA labeled waypoints were dropped in choke points between timbered areas and it is important to drive directly over each waypoint coordinate as you follow them in a series. By using your heading or course extension while navigating, you can aim towards the next waypoint/icon to help guide you. Never rely solely on GPS devices or data for navigation.
  • Can I make sure the chip loaded the correct GPS coordinates?
There are a total of 1,081 waypoints. To ensure that the waypoints loaded onto the correct GPS locations, go to the coordinates: N 32degree49.201' W 95degree33.560'. If these GPS coordinates match the 'SRA' waypoint icon, then the file loaded correctly.
  • Why is Guide Lanes better than the competitors?
Customer Feedback:https://www.facebook.com/lakeforkguidelanes/reviews With Guide Lanes you will have the location of all the Lake Fork SRA buoys as well as over 100 unmarked lanes that are not found on any other navigational products. Unlike other navigational aids, Guide Lanes was created during the peak of the 2014 drought when the water level was 7 feet below full pool. Guide Lanes is the number #1 choice of guides and professional anglers from the Bassmaster, Major League Fishing and FLW tournament organizations. Why Waypoints, not Trails/Routes? The waypoints should be passed over directly as they are areas where choke points exist between submerged timber fields. By using your heading or course extension while navigating you can aim towards the next waypoint/icon to help guide you.
  • Why are the waypoints named 'SRA', 'SLOW', 'JUNCTION', etc.?"
Waypoints named 'SRA' are buoy waypoints. Note: Buoy waypoints do not mark the buoys' current position, but the preferred buoy position during the 2014 drought. When Stephen created these lanes, Lake Fork was 7 feet low. He was able to find the deepest points where the SRA buoys should be. Waypoints named 'SLOW' are positioned in heavily timbered areas and it is important to drive directly over each waypoint coordinate as you follow them in a series. Waypoints named 'JUNCTION' are where two or three lanes connect. All other waypoints are named based on which creek, cove, boat ramp, marina they allow easier access to.
  • Will waypoint icons be blue & red (color) as shown in the homepage image?

Waypoints named 'SLOW' are positioned in heavily timbered areas and it is important to drive directly over each waypoint coordinate as you follow them in a series. Waypoints named 'JUNCTION' are where two or three lanes connect. All other waypoints are named based on which creek, cove, boat ramp, marina they allow easier access to.
